Front Wheel Dust Cover

Post by Mick D »

Hi

Could anyone advise how the dust cover / spacer, front wheel LH side, pn 18551 is retained? Is it fixed to the spindle or wheel hub, or just floating on both?

I just slipped mine (which was nothing like as shiny) over the spindle and bolted everything up. I don't remember seeing it rotate with the wheel so could not have been fixed to the hub. I think the step on the spindle traps it against the bearing spacer and the nut on the other side pulls it across. Sold my G15 now so I cannot check!

Slides over the axle and is held captive between the shoulder on the axle and the wheel bearing spacer, it does not rotate with the wheel.
