Gaiters

I am about to change to the fourth set of gaiters in the 11 years I have been riding my my G15CS.

I find the ones from Norvil look good and fairly correct, but unfortunately they only last a couple of years before they will start to tear.

I have looked for alternatives, but haven't found any suitable. What do you use?

Regards,
Christian

In my experience modern gaiters only last 2 years then fall apart, sadly Indian rubber isn't what it once was, I have tried different suppliers but most fall apart, sorry I can't be more helpful.

I got mine 5 years ago from Joe Seiffert near Muenchen, Norton Motors.
After far over 25000 miles they ares still elastic and in good condition.
Hope, the quality is still the same.

Try Andover Norton. Those on my Commando have lasted over 20 years.

Thanks and I agree, haven't thought of Andover. I'll give them a try!

Poor rubber quality is revaled in costal areas if the rubber is not ozon resistant - and in Denmark, no-one has more than 50 miles to the sea, hence the problem.

I'm 500 yards from the sea so thats why my gaiters don't last long, thanks Christian

That may only be 30 miles Christian ( 48 approx. Kl. ) Foreign cars also suffer from salt. I had to replace rubbers on a Russian Lada after one year. I discovered from the vin number it was made 2 years before I brought it new. Probably stored in coastal/port compounds in Russia and here. Fittings were also oxidised.
