Dave16MCT.
Found the coverplate. I had looked under frames and tinware, wheels and a couple of others. so thats sorted, thanks. I'll get on it next.

As Columbo John says, counter-intuitive. You lever the box back, and then against that pressure, you drive it forward while checking the chain.

I'll give Armours a buzz on the pipes and silencer, and see what they say.

You would think that after 50 odd years of refinishing AMC tinware, there would be some concensus on paint codes.
Thanks, one and all.
PS I posted a while back on what I thought might be a couple of cyl. head nuts. From perusing lots of photos, I finally discovered they were the extended nuts/distance pieces to the exhaust pipes at the front crankcase/frame fixing. Ho Ho.

Andy,
that looks just the ticket on screen.
I need a battery for my daughters car, so I'll see if they have an spray-can in the place I go to. Clydebank.
Then get 1/2 ltr 2K.
Thanks.

Ochone. Ochone. Why do I have to sign-in again to post a comment.
And I don't have permission to view images for some reason. I'm unworthy.

On second, and third looking, maybe a bit dark. Not enough white in it.
