Alternative Tank for 1961 G12 CSR

Post by AFPU »

Hi All

As part of recommissioning my recently acquired 1961 G12 CSR I was considering fitting a smaller tank (ideally the 3 gallon version as fitted to the CS). Whilst there is nothing wrong with the existing 4.25 gallon tank that I have that is in reasonable original condition, I do like the look of the later G15/P11 bikes.

So my question is, what other tanks would fit my 1961 G12 CSR without modification to the mountings?

Resurrecting this post as i have wondered about this myself. Is fitting the CS tank a straightforward swop?

Yes, so long as you get the tank for the duplex frame. The tunnel is slightly widened , flared at the front to suit the splay of the front down tubes.
