Rear sprocket play
Noticed an occasional snatch from the drive when riding my 61 G12 with QD rear wheel, there is free play between the sprocket and the wheel To explain better if you straddle the bike and put your foot on the brake the bike can be rolled back and forwards about 1 1/2 ins because of the play between brake drum and wheel. This may be just my imagination seeing problems where there are none, but I really don't want the wheel falling off while trundling down the A9. Can anybody enlighten me before I do a strip down?

Re: Rear sprocket play
it certainly sounds like the rubbers are worn out. However unless the spindle breaks too its unlikely the wheel will fall off.

Re: Rear sprocket play
Dunno Duncan haven't had the wheel off in years, as Clive says I think there must be worn shock absorbing rubbers somewhere, only one way to find out
