can anyone tell me the correct torque setting for big end nuts?

or point me at a table with the various torque figures for a M30?

Don't think they had invented torque settings back then . workers were experienced mechanics , and tightened till it felt right ..
I was was an engine fitter in the RAF in the 50s, and we just tightened everything till we were happy with it .. with one exception, on constant speed props, we measured the length of certain bolts and tightened them till they stretched a number of thousandths of an inch (forget the number ..

Do it up to 3 uggaduggas, alternatively enough you start to creak, but stop when you fart, but don't overdo it or you will need a change of knickers.

You only go for the change when it strips or breaks! :rofl: Been there and done it only once and swore never again!
