Camshafts

Post by RodneyK »

I think the inlet and exhaust camshafts have been switched on the initial re-assembly of my 55 G9B. Before I pull it apart to correct this I have to check;
Inlet cam has a slot in the end. Exhaust cam has a “tongue” on the end. Correct?
Sorry to bother you but I don’t want to split the cases again until I’m sure.

From the 1955 spares List. See here:

It would seem that the inlet has the slot...........

the easy way to tell is look at the oil distribution that is driven by the exhaust camshaft 022385

It sounds OK to me. The oil distributor has a slot to fit on the exhaust cam's tongue.
Dave.
