Drive chain lengthening?
I've fitted a 17 tooth gearbox sprocket. The new drive chain is the standard 96 links and despite slackening off all the adjusters (including primary chain) it doesn't want to fit. Do I need a cranked link to compensate for the extra tooth?

Re: Drive chain lengthening?
You might getaway with a Complete extra link from your old chain if the adjustment will allow you to get it tight enough. Then when your new chain is worn/stretched enough you could remove it. Trying It would certainly help you decide that you needed a cranked link if it would not adjust up.

Re: Drive chain lengthening?
Thanks for the suggestion Clive. I found a cranked link in the back shed (never throw anything away) and was able to try it out. The axel now sits about half way along its range of adjustment.
