Removing rear wheel bearings

Post by Trefor »

I've stripped the rear hub of my '53 G9 and I'm down to the bearings ( clips retaining rings etc. removed). The bearings are not moving- is it down to drifting out with brute force, and which side, brake or speedo, is it best to remove first? Any suggestions?

Remove locking ring and adjusting screw, on the opposite side using a socket smaller dia than the circlip tap the bearing away to take pressure of the circlip, remove same, bearing should now tap out. Thre is an PDF of instruction manual on the help section
Mod 20/ g9 rear wheel. When stripping the rear hub take some photo's of what parts go where cos it's easy to mix up the brake side assembly.
Hope this helps.
