Well at the least you are missing the snail cam on the right hand side instead of that spacer. But the spindle is not correct for snail cams. You need one with woodruff key slots. Look at the earlier photo which shows the parts laid out.

Your frame number certainly fits in the range for ‘55 but the pillion footrests should be on triangular plates on the rear frame loop not on the extensions to the bottom frame rails as yours are. You should also have the chain adjusters on the outside of the swingarm not on the inside. The 1955 frame is a one year only and the casting from the seat nose joint to the large swingarm pivot should have a big “O” in the middle of it. The oiltank and battery carrier are fitted either side of this casting with studs passing through the casting at the top and bottom of the “O”. These studs screw into the rear of the oiltank and the battery carrier fits on the studs and is secured by nuts. If you check the illustrations in both the 1954 and ‘55 spares lists on www.jampot.archives.dk you can see the differences. It may be that you have the front frame from a 1955 and the rear from 1954 as I think the frame number is on the front section.

Does anyone know where I can find a snail cam adjuster?

Are both tge left and right side the same? Or is spacer on the opposite side?

No they are not the same as they are handed or they would not work, as you say spacers are on different sides.

Reynard24

Thanks for the information.

The rear frame and swing arm are chrome plated as was the oil tank. Which suggests something has been changed.

Any photos showing what my bike should look like would be greatly appreciated.

My short term goal is to get the bike road worthy. Originality is not an issue.

The location of the clam stop on the left side requires the spacer side to point toward the timing side on the bike.

The location of the bolt I pictured requires the spacer to point toward the time side also.

I can post pictures. Apparently my swing arm does not match the my so there is no right way to do this.
‘I going to put this back together and move on to the next project…installing the newly repaired generator.

Reynard24, I can’t get the link you posted to work. Is there another link?

Sorry Richard, that should have been www.archives.jampot.dk where you will find spares list, technical info and sales brochures etc. The illustrations of the frame parts in the spares lists for ‘54 &’55 are very good for those years and show the differences very well. I have a ‘55 G80S and will try to take some photos to illustrate further.

Thank you! I stumbled across that link in my searches.

You are correct. There is a wealth of information there. It answered lots of questions.

For example, my swing arm and axle definitely are NOT a match.

To do this right, I need the correct swing arm….if they are interchangeable.

In the mean time I will put the bike back together and address other issues.

BTW this is the rear brake that came with the bike. This is probably wrong too.
