Side stand spring Model 18 , 1950

Hi people,
Been changing the gearbox oil today and noticed the side stand spring is very corroded so will get a replacement.But before I do, I was wondering if the spring on there now has more parts for it?
Reason I say this is that the spring fits onto the other side of the frame in 2 holes, is this correct?
The bike is pretty much as original as I can make out going on the pictures and literature I've been looking at, so just interested in where the spring clips to.
