Using frame # Factory records of my bike identifyes it as Model 57/30. Who can tell me what that means please?

This means it is a 1957 M30 AJS 600 cc Twin.

Or the frame was at least when it left the factory. Who knows what happened in the intervening 64 years!

In the intervening 64 years it has had an engine transplant and transformed into a 500 single Matchless, engine is 57 80s. lol. the correct year at least.
