Do pay careful attention to the alignment of the sprockets and avoid the primary and dynamo chains clashing; not good if they do.

Thanks for that, I'll check alignment as you say as soon as I can get the gear box something like bolted in place, awaiting some fixings to arrive.

Whilst awaiting my parts arrival, I have pulled out of the magic box, the magnetos! I have a Lucas SR1 & a N1.
The SR1 has the auto advance fitted. I spun it with a battery drill after replacing the condenser and points clean, it sparked up but not very exciting. Did same With N1, it produced a big fat spark. Any thoughts on whether to fit the N1 with a manual advance or pay to get the SR1 rewound?

The SR1 is correct for your year and it's a better mag. I'd fit the N1 for now and get the SR1 rebuilt at your leisure.

+1 for the SR1, no experience of N1.

+1 for the SR1, no experience of N1. I would fit the BrightSpark EasyCap rather than the standard capacitor.

Just rang a local magneto rewind guy who has quoted £250 as a ball park figure to completely refurbish the SR1,
Does that sound about right?

I need a dynamo chain, there isn't one in the box!
The spares list have 49 link chain and 50 link chain but I'm struggling to work out what I need for a 55 G80, any ideas?

It's worthwhile familiarising yourself with the Spares list for your bike. See page 19 here:
