Centre stud/nut for steel chaincase

Post by iolex »

After fitting the extra spacing behind the chaincase, the nut with washer is too thick. It is possible to get nyloc fasteners with a reduced thickness that would do the job, or just machine it down. What is the thread size and type of the stud? Cycle or BSF/UNF ?

The stud is 7/16 cycle. Perhaps you can unscrew the nut on the opposite end to gain some more thread. You'd have to tighten the nut inside the chaincase of course.
