Hi All
Bought my 1952 16MS in 1971, been riding and fettling her ever since...
It has always had this monobloc fitted, and with subtle changes... is running great.
The numbers on the top flange are 376/ and nothing else, on the underside of the flange.. 11-62 is stamped.
Measuring the bore shows what I believe to be a 15/16" ID... the size recommended for this era should be 1-1/16"
Seems a big difference from my ID to the book size.. is it worth finding the larger one somewhere, bearing in mind she does run well as is.
Interested in just what the 11-62 numbers mean, I can't find any reference online.
Thanks from Qld...

Re: 52 16MS Monobloc Part Number
I don't know what the 11-62 means unless it's manufacturing date (Nov 1962) but I don't think it's of any significance WRT performance.
As far as I recall none of my monoblocs have had any stamping on the underside of the mounting flange. Your bike would have been fitted originally with a carb that had a separate/side float chamber (a 76/AE). See page12 of your workshop manual here:

Is the i.d. of the carb spacer hole and the cyl head inlet tract also 15/16"?
Have a look at this thread from a couple of weeks ago which covers a similar question to yours:

If it's running well I'd leave it alone. (If it ain't broke, don't fix it!)

Re: 52 16MS Monobloc Part Number
Thanks Dave and Spriddler.. yes, running well so won't be buying a new carb.. just thinking out loud.
15/16" to 1-1/16" is quite a jump...but not just now.
The spacer is standard 1" and the inlet seems the same.
I have only had the monobloc, so no experience or knowledge with the genuine 76/AE side float.
Cheers again, back to enjoying our Qld weather.
