Finally I found a Wipac 180-6 headlamp lens, however the reflector is corroded, has anyone had any success in separating the glass from the reflector?

I did Max, I just gently eased/bent the lip back. it wasn't stuck in just a thin rubber seal it sat on. I had the reflector re-chromed and put it back together with a bead of clear silicone sealant.

Well, that didn't take too long with a keen pair of pliers and a bit of patience, now off to the platers. The ring appeared to be split so I expect there is a bit of built in obsolescence there.

My ring was split in two places that's why I left it out and used silicon instead. Silicon makes a better waterproof seal as well.

I was thinking of using the rear half of the MU42 miller style unit, saves re-chrome and I know will fit the rim, probably cheaper solution too. Max

OK, so the MU42 unit arrived, it is fractionally bigger than the original but I know it fits the rim, popped the Miller cats eye lens out and then fitted the Wipac lens in its place with some clear silicone rubber. jobs a goodun!

Excellent, great solution, wish I'd thought of that.

Looks alright now, never did like the cats eye lens, made the bike appear odd. :D M
