E10 Fuel

Having been told E10 Fuel will eat plastic carb floats, I contacted Amal and it seems if you have a carb bought in the last four years and with a black float you'll be OK - don't know if you can replace an "old" float with a black one !?

They should be a straight swap, I have been running any old fuel in my G5 it does not seem to care a hoot what make or 'E' number it is it just keeps going. it's another load of old baloney just like the unleaded hype at the time. Never burned up a valve seat in 150k miles on another pre war machine.
