Late G2CSR Clutch

Post by DaveC29011953 »

We've been running a very late (1966) G2CSR. As it came in a Tea chest we simply bodged together a clutch that does work but...... Doing a full overhaul for post Covid runs can anyone tell me the correct clutch plates that should be in a late machine with the duplex chain and the stepped back to the clutch body. Books such as Neil seem to stop at 1965. Thanks. Dave C

You will find parts lists in the archives http://archives.jampot.dk to cross reference plates. I don't think there is anything as late as your bike, but I doubt the clutch changed much in those last few years... if at all.

There is the problem. The CSR moved to the duplex chain at some latish date and there is some references in the spares scheme to a non standard clutch plate for "certain 250 l/w models" . Think I'll just go with a standard CS clutch assembly, unless anyone can tell me otherwise.

The 350cc's had duplex chains early on, it's probably the same clutch.
My G5 is 1960 and is duplex, so was another, also 1960, that I owned 40 odd years ago. If it's any help, the clutch can be seen in this picture.
