EKT is a 1938 Kent reg. no. The bike does appear to have a large front brake drum making it a 500 cc. Not a model 18 which has a single port engine.
The bike with it's twin port engine is a 1938 500 Model 8.

Thanks Rob great information, the bike is a lot earlier that I first thought then.

What age did you think it was Steve ? Girder forks made it prewar. The photo was not clear enough to see 1938 39 or 40. The reg. no. proved 1938.Ducati1980 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 6:05 pm Thanks Rob great information, the bike is a lot earlier that I first thought then.
If my saying it's not a model 18 because that had a single port engine swayed you , there was a 1938 model 18 and a 1938 model 8. There is some confusion about this. Some believe 500 cc engines were stamped 8 or 18. Not realising there were two versions. Single or twin port engines being the main difference.

Re: EKT 35 AJS
I was thinking the bike was late 40’s to early 50’s as my auntie who is the baby on the bike was born 1951 but yes you are right I hadn’t even noticed it had girder forks.
And when looking at pictures of the model 18 I hadn’t even noticed they didn’t have an exhaust on the near side of the bike which the one in my picture does.
