AJS - pre-war - UP2548

Post by Eamonn »

From an email just received (also information about the model would be of great interest - possibly 1929 M5? ):

Good afternoon,

I've been pointed to your forum by somebody at BCF. I'm trying to track down an old AJS (model and indeed if its still out there somewhere) that belonging to my grandfather. I have an old black and white photo.

model 5 is 350 SV. Looks more like a 1929 OHV model 8 to me.

Myvote goes for a SV machine going by the downward slope of the exhaust and its finning. The SVs also had the valves covered as in the pic by that date. The OHVs still had exposed pushrods.
Number no longer on dvla computer so probably long gone by now
