Tony Cooper told me when he restored my mag, the mag with the kill button has a different screw on end cap and bearing housing.

Yes, but a different version on M31 .. held on by 2 2ba? nuts .. no Lucas remote kill available for it, but have found something intended to do the job, but will require fettling..

Yes I know that is how the bearing housing is fitted, but could you mod the original by using a suitable pan head screw and nut
Drill the head / shank to suit mag pick up brush ,a couple of small fibre washers, and a short length of insulating sleeve.
