Putting engine back together AJS 18s 1952 can see no thread in crankcase for screws part no 000485 also place for ball bearing for oil feed to barrel any ideas, leak also on bolt fixing folk damper tube to slider , is there a box spanner that fits?

They're plugs for oil passages on the timing side below the timing cover. In the manual page 36 http://archives.jampot.dk/book/Owners_m ... Manual.pdf
The cylinder oilfeed is between the crankcase and cylinder. The gasket has a cutaway to accommodate it. The leak from the forks, you need a thinwall socket or box spanner 5/16"BSF. Better to fit a new fibre washer under the bolt.

Can't think of any use for the 1/4" ball bearing on your bike. The barrell feed from memory is smaller. It lives under a screw and probably hasn't been disturbed. Some members blank it off. The 3 screw plugs are on the outside of the crankcase. Look at the timing cover, down a bit. We've a few members in your area who are familiar with singles.
