I need to get a new clutch cable for my model 31 .. Club spares don't seem to list one and searching the net and the forum I am not getting very far ..
There seems to be a recommendation to send the old cable to Venhill cables and get a new one to pattern..
Guidance would be appreciated
Ps .. I don't have enough confidence in myself to tackle soldering nipples ..

Hi Ben, is this the one you need?:
T550 CABLE CLUTCH CONTROL; USE FOR 1957-59 HEAVYWEIGHT SINGLES
Cable Clutch Control; 1957-59 Heavyweight singles & twins, NOT competition models use for 023321; 023753 024169
I think the short description may have misled you.

Tip:
Check before ordering that you have the standard lever.
I've read occasional 'complaints' on here that the club clutch and brake cables haven't fitted peoples' bikes so bear in mind that it may not fit if you have a non-standard/aftermarket handlebar lever. E.g. a lever with a threaded cable adjuster built in.

Re: 1959 AJS M31 clutch cable ..
Hello S.
Thanks for keeping an eye on me .....
I was aware of that .. looking through old posts trying to find the cable .. I believe my lever is standard, with a barrel nipple ..
I also saw that someone had to file down the clutch end nipple to get it through the threaded hole in the gearbox, but I think I'm capable of doing that ..

Try Steve Surbey at AMC Classic Spares. The cables he stocks are of better quality than the ones available from Kettering. Even when I worked at Kettering I would always buy cables from Steve and I'm not alone.
