Hairspring Tool

Post by bunners »

Afternoon all

I am looking for someone, preferably in the Hants area that can loan or sell me the tool for installing hairsprings.
I had one but have not used it for ages and subsequently cant find it. :headbang:

Ted are you able to drive over to Bitterne or is the wife chauffeuring you? If you can get over during the week some time you're more than welcome to pop the springs in using the tool or I'll put them in by hand. Send me a PM. Rob

Rob,
It's OK for those where each arm is a separate gorilla to do it by hand but others struggle. I have the tool but did manage eventually without. I saw it as a challenge. Relieving the bottom edge of the spring legs certainly makes it easier.

I was everso happy that there was no leakage when I put the petrol in the combustion chamber.
