clutch assembly bits

Post by anthony kosecki »

I'm trying to reassemble the clutch on my 55 g3ls but need help. The spares scheme does not carry part no 12-7-7, washer, plain, for retaining nut - does anybody know what the dimensions are for this item? Another question: part no 12-10-3, washer, thin, chainwheel bearing and part no 12-10-4, washer, thick, chain wheel bearing - which one goes towards the back of the chain wheel ie gets put on first? Thanks in advance.

Don't know the washer size. do know, 12-7-7 is same as 71-X which is listed in stock at AMC classic spares

Look here where washers go, http://archives.jampot.dk/technical/Tra ... d_view.pdf

Further to advice received (again, many thanks) I've typed 71-X into spares search but without any luck. Am I having finger trouble or am I bxllsing something else up?

It's a part that we do not stock but it's a plain washer about 2- 2.5mm thick that sits under the locking washer and nut. It's purpose it to just give enough room for a screwdriver to lift the edge of the locking washer to allow it to be folded home onto the nut.
