Hi All
A mate's 1960 Model 31 has a chromed heat shield panel over the oil tank, and I've seen the occasional photo of other AJS & Matchless bikes similarly equipped. Was it ever an original factory option, or something previous owners have done over the years?

You do often see it but I don't think it was ever a factory option. Feel free to trawl through the parts lists to make sure though!
