No wonder the Tyre split.

Day 5 - Here we are then, all booked into the rally. Bikes tucked away in an underground carpark - no need for bike covers tonight!😃. Looking forward to three nights in the same bed, nice runs and touching base with old acquaintances....

Excellent before and after (ribs) pix there. Can't see Rob's ribs though...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he keeps the T shirt on!

Wish I was there.

Keep the news coming.

WHi Rob, will you apologise to Jan for him not getting the Cornish Rattler Cider I promised him, I did ask Dudley Woods if he would take a case over but he declined due to the European Customs problems. Enjoy the Rally and I hope the weather is better than has been forecast here for the weekend. MikeM.

Day 6 - apologies for the luck of updates, too busy drinking, eating and riding. Clive has been doing a cracking job of providing updates on his West London thread so take a look there if you've not already done. Saturday's run was great, taking in a section along the Rhine where we stopped for refreshments and watched barges and pleasure craft ply up and down.

Then a great climb out of the valley. Lunch was at a rural museum, for want of a better description, a bowl of beef stew or was that goulash? Not sure but certainly hit the spot!

Day 7 - just wished I'd set up image resolution before taking anymore photos  File size exceeds 3Mbps and I can't find a way to reduce on this phone in order to post :| Anyway, moving on....the forecast today was rain and thunder-storms but luckily the former didn't really materialise and the latter was conspicuous by its absence :D

Today's 'Taunus Mountain Run' through lovely country side and nice bendy roads. The ice-cream stop brought temptation to the fore but the image on the hotel room full length mirror soon quelled that! The lunch stop delivered mega schnitzels, temptation resistance blown out of the window, gonna need to not eat for a week to recover!

Back at the rally site after refueling ready for the journey home then the rally wind up gathering where Jan and his team were applauded for putting on a great event.

All for now, catch up tomorrow with any luck.

Day 8 - 170 miles to Houffalize. Swiftnav did well, keeping mostly off main drags with a lovely twists and turns route. Almost green lanes in parts.
