Hampshire - Our IJR (Rob, Mandy & Ray)

Post by rumble »

Day one - Ashford

A somewhat damp trio met at Emsworth services on the A27. Rain cleared and a steady ride to Lewes thence a nice cross country run via the High Weald to Ashford Central Premier Inn. Ray lost his balance after refueling and nearly dropped his M30 then adding insult to injury missed a roundabout exit. No hope! 😯. Fat and full and ready for an early start tomorrow......

You have a good trip, i remember it well dropping my bike on the way to Portugal that was Rob's fault for missing a junction looking for the hotel. ;)

Day 2 early start to get the train and all went well until our first stop....Ray now knows what it's like to have a woman fall at his feet. Mandy fell backwards getting off the bike and knocked him and his bike over. Bruises and a dent in Rays tool box lid that looks as though it ought to pop out OK. Then of course the subsequent puncture on Robs bike. That has yet to be played out fully but let's hope tomorrow fares better....

Day 3 continued - How lucky was that! Local Suzuki shop in Namur was able to supply and fit a new tyre and inner tube for Rob's bike :D . Headed out again at 10:45 so not too much time lost. Lovely ride on great biking roads through the Ardennes to tonight's stop at Mülheim-Kärlich on the River Rhine. Fat and full now after sampling the local cuisine accompanied by a few beers. Relatively short run tomorrow to the rally location....

Great, hope all's well just jealous.

Keeping posting your news if you can.

I've fallen off at a standstill more than once, in fact more than when moving. See you in Wales.

Day 4 - Arrived at our final destination, Glashütten. Feasted last night, currywurst for Ray, a huge plate of Ribs for Rob, all washed down with a couple of beers. Magical ride today along the Rhine valley then a series of second gear hairpins as we came out of the valley. All this and the sun was shining....
