Re: Classic Transfers - Petrol tank lining
Mick, I have managed to get the tank done, using water as per the videos is definitely the way to go.
It's still a bit tricky, if like me you ain't got the patience for it, and they ain't perfect, but I don't care enough to do them again.

Thanks Peter
I hope I have as much success as you when I tackle the job.
Have you sealed the decals and if so what did you use?
Regards Mick

Re: Classic Transfers - Petrol tank lining
Thanks Dave/Bodgie, they aren't as good as they look in the picture.
Mick, The tank is off getting a clear coat right now. It is a 2 pack clear coat, instructions said don't use cellulose.
I was given instructions by Classic Transfers what to use and how. I'll post them later.

Here's the instructions that came with the stickers...
CLEAR CELLULOSE WILL CAUSE THE TRANSFER TO SHRINK
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
OVERCOATING WITH TWO PACK CLEAR LACQUERS: Some of our
customers in the specialist motorcycle painting business have perfected
the art of overcoating our transfers with Two Pack Clear Lacquer as
follows: DO NOT ADD EXTRA THINNERS. Generally a light mist coat is
applied followed by a full coat some 30 minutes later. However not all
Two Packs are to the same quality and we are unable to guarantee this
method.
YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK
Classic Transfers, P.O. Box 17, Wotton-Under-Edge, Glos, GL12

No Mick, but I'll ask when I pick it up.
