Ron 1951 parts list states clutch cable inner wire 50 3/4" casing 47" So Docherty sounds good if just under 51"

Ok, current spares sellers offer a clutch cable to suit all singles and twins '46 to 51. Originally, as Rob has pointed out, a clutch cable for a twin was over 3" longer than for a single, and I had consulted my twin spares list and assumed measurements would also apply to the cable for the single. Not so! I will look again at the routing to optimise it. I may also make my own cable in future for a better fit.

So now I know.

For all my AMC machines, I've made my own clutch and front brake cables up from Venhill's heavy duty kits. The cables are bigger diameter and teflon lined. They give a firmer feel than the smaller diameter "ready made" items.

Hi John
I've just browsed the Venhill website. Registration appears to require a Motorcycle brand and AJS/Matchless are not listed.
I tried looking for 'heavy duty' and only found items for named manufacturers.
Where on their portal are the generic 'heavy duty' kit items you use to build your cables?
