56 oil filter

just wondering if any one has a pic of the small filter that fits in the 56 oil tank,could a modern in line filter be used and not be to restrictive,cheers

No don't put any other filter in the feed side. Get the correct gauze filter from the club spares. It's listed under oiltank and there's a good picture. It pushes into the feed pipe in the oiltank.

Dave 16mct is recommending what I agree with. There are others who have fitted other filters, if you do a search you may find these threads. Personally, I stick with the factory setup and the factory recommended oil. Alternative filtering arrangements may be tied to using modern oils BUT this is a minefield as you'll see if you do a search on that topic. There are many views and disagreements about it.

johnny,thanks for your reply,will grab one of the orriginal type filter,will stick with straight 50,not so common in stores as it was,even have had to order it in last batch,will keep clear of multi grades,cheers,dave
