Distance sleeve

Post by Steve64 »

Hi everyone, hope you are all keeping well, I was hoping someone would be able to help me with the specs for the Distance Sleeve that sits under a 46 500 valve spring cup. I am finding it very difficult to source one and I may have to manufacture one myself. The original part number is 39-8-E191. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Steve.

In 1952 AMC introduced a new part numbering system. So since 1952 you have to covert your pre 1952 pt. no. to the new pt. no.
You can do that with this conversion book. If the old pt. no. does not convert to a new pt. no. it was not still used on post 1951 machines, you will still have to use the old pt. no. http://archives.jampot.dk/book/Spares_l ... ements.pdf
You will find 39-8-E191 is new pt. no. 010647. You will find 010647 IN STOCK here.

Hi Rob, thank you for that information, I was not aware or that. I will get in touch with them to hopefully get one.
Thanks again, Steve

Hi Rob I have since tracked down the new part number and have found someone with the part and another with the specs so I can manufacture one myself. This is not the first time you have given me some invaluable advise and I really appreciate your help and advise. I may have said this before but joining this club was the best thing I could have done.
Thanks again mate, Steve.
