What a shame he felt the need to lie about it. I was buying it anyway.? Human nature, it so rarely surprises in a positive way.

It seems my response was confusing for some. I was referring to the person at the vintage bearing company that took my order to be lieing. When I called and asked if they had any left, he responded that it was the last one.

That seems a bit harsh on the supplier. Sounds to me like a naïve error by the order taker rather than a deliberate porky. After all, what was the point of it if they believed it was 'the last one' as you were hardly likely to order two.
They only began promoting them 3 days ago on their website so maybe new stock had arrived but not been booked on to the computer or put on the shelf. It happens.
What intrigues me is why anyone should want to mislead a customer by saying it was the last one if they knew it wasn't so.

What year model will this replace?
I have 49 G80 with a bent axel and this might solve my issue.

The front axle went pretty well unchanged for the AMC forks.

I read ad in O B M. To day for replacement spindle / bearings at vintage bearing £ 160.00 a pop.
