Anyone help with small bit of welding?

Post by Trebor160 »

Hi All - Well on now with the G5 rebuild and I was about to put on my newly re-sprayed tank and I noticed a small crack in the slot bracket underneath. As I dont have the welding kit or the skills is there anyone our there in the Manchester / NorthWest area who can help me out with a very small welding job? Cheers

As you have refinished the tank, would it be a better idea to araldite a reinforcing plate in place? There are plenty of good welders, DBT Engineering in Preston are superb (but very, very busy). I've heard good reports about Bells Welding in Liverpool but I haven't used them. There surely must be someone nearer to you who would do it.

Rub down to bare metal and apply a patch with Pegatanke Epoxy (canine's sphericals). I would also line the inside of the tank with Slosh, preferably grey as a belt and braces exercise.
